Fruits of Life
This Wedding Vow Celebration was designed for inter-ethnic same sex couple, however, the texts can be used for any ethnicity, religious orientation, or heterosexual and same-sex couples. The text includes the famous passage about love from the Bible as well as secular texts. The design uses the elements of the Middle East (pomegranates) as the groom has ties to that region, while the blue reference the Mediterranean, the country of birth for the other partner. Overall inspiration was cloisonne paintings from the Qing dynasty with its use of bright colors and auspicious symbols.

Text
Please bring us big life and big love, deep life and deep love. May we see each other’s greatness and evoke
each other’s light. We surrender ourselves to love. We surrender our love to You. May it serve your purposes.May it receive Your blessing and carry Your power. May we never forsake each other. The purpose of intimate partnership is for us to midwife the perfection in each other. The point of love is to reveal to us the light inside….
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.
